It’s less than a month until the release of the next big video game adaptation,A Minecraft Movie, and we now have our first look at one of the popcorn buckets that will be available at Cinemark Theatres. Cinemagoers who are keen to see how the pixels of the beloved sandbox world translate to the big screen will now be able to own a piece of the action with a snack receptacle that is sure to blow up in popularity because the design is pure dynamite — literally because it’s a TNT crate, taking inspiration from the game’s pixelated model.
The bucket, posted on X/Twitter by Cinemark (shared below), was unveiled alongside several other pieces of tie-in merchandise for the upcoming block-rocking blockbuster. Another item that is sure to grab the attention ofMinecraftplayers is the “chicken jockey” popcorn and drinks vessel that features a baby zombie riding a chicken, as seen in the game and teased in the final movie trailer released by Warner Bros. In that, Jack Black’s Steve announces the arrival of the “chicken jockey” before Jason Momoa’s Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison feels the full force of the crazed character.

A Cinematic Trend That Continues to Pop Off
Cinemark Theaterscelebrated National Popcorn Day earlier this yearby filling up virtually any bucket that patrons brought in with the delicious salty and buttery snack for only $5. Sadly for popcorn lovers, this was only a one-day offer, but it certainly looks like the TNT box released forA Minecraft Moviewill hold a substantial amount of popcorn, giving patrons more bang for their buck. The combo deal includes the bucket and a large drink for $25, but the bucket in itself is a collectible for fans of the cinematic trend that has popped off in recent years.
Popcorn buckets have become a theater premium that is almost expected alongside big releases these days. So far this year, we’ve been treated to the star-spangled shield of Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson for aCaptain America: Brave New Worldtie-in, a mine cart from the upcoming Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler-ledSnow Whitemovie, and the cursed toy from Osgood Perkins' adaptation of Stephen King’sThe Monkey. These novelty items follow some memorable gems from 2024, such as Wolverine’s gaping mouth forDeadpool & Wolverineand the sandworm-shaped bucket complete with tentacle topper forDune: Part 2, which, understandably, had the whole internet talking.
