Many of us are still struggling from the loss ofAdam West, who passed away on June 10 at the age of 88. He will forever be best known as the “Bright Knight” from the 1960sBatmanTV series, but for many younger folks, they know him best as Mayor Adam West fromFamily Guy. The eccentric mayor of Quahog, who was a wacky version of the actual Adam West, became one of the most beloved characters on the long-running animated series and will be impossible to replace. Luckily, Mayor Adam West isn’t done just yet, as he is still scheduled to appear in five more episodes duringFamily Guyseason 16.

Entertainment Weeklyrecently spoke withFamily Guywriter andExecutive Producer Steve Callaghanabout the passing of Adam West. During the in-depth interview, Callaghan, who actually wrote the very first episode that Mayor Adam West appeared in back during season 2, was asked about how many more episodes ofFamily GuyAdam West will appear in, since voice work is often recorded quite some time before the episodes ever make it to air. He had some good news for all of us, as Mayor Adam West is going to be around quite a bit inFamily Guyseason 16.

“Mayor West will be in five more episodes of the show that are scheduled to air this coming season.”

So that is really good news forFamily Guyfans and, as part of the bigger picture, those who loved Adam West in general. Mayor Adam West has appeared in more than 100 episodes ofFamily Guyand allowed us to see a very different side of Adam West. The line, “Hey Baby. Wanna take a gander at some Adam West penis?” comes to mind. The creative team behind the show hasn’t yet decided how they are going to handle the departure of Adam West from the show, which they are also trying to sort out in regards toCarrie Fisherand her character Angela as well.

“We haven’t exactly decided how we’re going to address the departure of Adam West’s character from the series. In fact, this is something that we’ve been dealing with concerning the loss of Carrie Fisher [who was a recurring guest voice]. But what I can say is that both of their departures from the show will certainly reflect the importance that each of those characters, and actors, had within our series.”

It’s good to know that theFamily Guy teamis going to do their best to handle the passing of Adam West and Carrie Fisher with care and aren’t just going to unceremoniously remove them from the show. Steve Callaghan also mentioned that they may just leave the Mayor’s office vacant for a while in Quahog as a way to honor Adam West, but that hasn’t been decided yet.Family Guyreturns to Fox on October 1.
