Yesterday, 20th Century Fox held a special presentation for press members, where the first footage fromAlien: Covenantwas shown. Theearly reactionsto this footage was quite positive, with several reports claiming that it returns to the franchise’s horror roots. It isn’t known when the studio plans on releasing this footage to the general public, but while we wait, new photos from the set have mysteriously surfaced, long after principal photography has wrapped.

The fan siteAlien-Covenant.comdiscovered these photos from the set, which give us another look at thespace jockey, along with a glimpse at one of the new aliens known as the Neomorphs. StarMichael Fassbenderrevealed the Neomorph name during a radio interview earlier this year, with this photo revealing that it is likely the prop for a baby Neomorph alien parasite “after it has burst from the back of its unfortunate host.” It is believed that these Neomorphs may be the forerunners to the Xenomorphs in the originalAlienand its subsequent sequels.

We also get a glimpse at a bunch of alien bodies, which may have been from thealien massacreteased in set photos that debuted back in May, along with a temple set as well. Unfortunately, these photos don’t feature any cast members, but with 20th Century Fox recently pushing the release date from July 13, 2025 to August 17, 2025, the first footage very well may be debuting sooner rather than later.

Ridley Scottreturns to the universe he created in Alien withAlien: Covenant, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began withPrometheusand connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
