At the beginning of the month,AquamanstarAmber Heardannounced that she was a mom, posing an image of herself with her new daughter, Oonagh Paige, whom she named after her own mother who sadly passed away last year. After being told that she would never be able to have a child herself, Heard’s new baby was born on April 8th by surrogate. Today the actress, who has pushed aside the cloud of controversy around her on-going legal issues with former husband Johnny Depp, posted a video of herself with her little girl, giving her fans their best look yet at the youngster.
“you’re able to take the gal out of LA, but you can’t take LA out of the gal #notajuicer” Heard posted on her account with the video, in which she drinks a cup of green juice while holding her daughter on her knee. Her followers were soon cooing over the new arrival in her life, the baby not the juice, with many commenting on how gorgeous the little girl is. “Okay I need some time to recover myself FROM THIS CUTENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CANT” one gushed, with another concurring with, “your baby is the most beautiful thing in the world and the luckiest to have you as a mother.”
She continued, “A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this. My daughter was born on July 12, 2025. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life.”
Heard is currently in a relationship with Bianca Butti, whom she has been with for just over 18 months, but being sole parent to Oonagh is apparently what she wanted to do, and she said that she is “proud” to say that. The birth of her daughter and the naming of her, will have come as some comfort to the star, who mourned the loss of her mother in May last year at the age of 63. She called her mother “the most beautiful woman I have ever known”, and added, “It’s hard to imagine and even more difficult to say but I feel truly lucky to have been her daughter and been given the gift of having the light she shone on everyone, fall on me for nearly 34 years.”
The star has recently found herself at the center of numerous calls for her to be removed from her role in the upcomingAquamansequel due to her domestic abuse accusations against Johnny Depp, who was forced to step down from his role inFantastic Beasts 3after losing a libel battle against a British newspaper who referred to him as a “wife-beater”. The pair are due to appear in court again next year over an opinion piece written in the Washington Post, in which Heard claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse although she did not directly name Depp in the article.
A source close to the star said in relation to her current troubles, “For now, all that matters to Amber is Oonagh and raising a healthy and strong daughter.” This is something that for any new mother is going to be true, and her other worries, for now, will be nothing more than an afterthought, which is clear by the new video.
