TheStar Warsfranchise has long been known for its lightsaber battles and space fights, but the series took a massive turn whenAndorwas released onDisney+. The show was much different from pastStar Warsstreaming shows likeThe MandalorianandKenobi, giving up action to delve deeper into the politics of theStar Warsuniverse and setting up the story inA New Hope.

How Many Episodes Are There in ‘Andor’ Season 2?
Season 2 ofAndorwill be streaming on Disney+ as well as Hulu for people with a Disney+ subscription. Ad-supported and premium tiers of Disney+ will both have the show. The series starts on April 22 with a three-episode premiere, and new episodes will drop weekly for the next three weeks, with a total of 10 episodes.
Season 2 is divided into four chapters, each with three episodes. Each weekly drop will have one chapter, meaning there will be three new episodes for viewers to watch each week. Previously, Disney+ episodes wouldn’t be released until midnight, butAndorepisodeshave been pushedto 6 p.m. PT and 9 p.m. ET, giving viewers more time to watch a full chapter in one night. Episodes should range from 40 minutes to an hour.

The chapter way of storytelling is not new forAndor, as the first season also had 12 episodes with four chapters. However, episodes weren’t released in chapters for that season. The main reason for the weekly chapters this season is that each chapter will be set one year after the last chapter.

What To Expect in ‘Andor’ Season 2
Andoris not like otherStar Warsshows. The series is more focused on the politics of the Empire and the beginning of the Rebellion rather than the Jedi. One of the series' stars, Stellan Skarsgård,even defined itas “Star Wars for grown-ups” in an interview withVanity Fair.
Not much is known about the plot of Season 2 right now, but from the trailers, it’s going to be very focused on getting characters involved with the Rebellion. Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna) will likely be recruiting people and working with powerful leaders throughout space. The Rebels will also have to deal with the looming threat of the Death Star, which is in the process of being built.

‘Andor’ Creator Addresses Lucasfilm Cutting ‘Star Wars’ First F-Bomb
‘Star Wars’ could have featured its first F-bomb in the first season of ‘Andor’ but creator Tony Gilroy has a different view on its exclusion.
That doesn’t mean the show will be all talking and politics, though. A few trailers have shown scenes from intense battles with Stormtroopers. The most recent trailer also ended with Cassian Andor getting into a Tie Fighter and breaking out of a building with the vehicle.

How Does ‘Andor’ Connect to the Rest of Star Wars?
AndorSeason 2 will connect to the rest of theStar Warsseries in lots of exciting ways. Season 2 of the show will take place one year after the events in the Season 1 finale. The yearly time gaps between each chapter will take the Season 2 finale up to the events ofRogue One, leaving hardly any room for a third season. The show’s titular character, Cassian Andor, first appeared inRogue One, so it makes sense that the show will lead to the events of that film. Some of the film’s other characters will also appear inAndor, such as Andor’s robot companion, K-2SO, andRogue One’s villain, Director Orson Krennic.
‘Andor’ Is Only Getting 2 Seasons (and That’s a Good Thing)
It’s been decided that the ‘Star Wars’-Disney+ series ‘Andor’ will end with Season 2. However, it’s not necessarily a bad thing, and for good reason.
The first season ofAndoralso had a few characters from otherStar Warsinstallments whose stories are supposed to expand this season. Mon Mothma, a small character fromReturn of the Jedi, was introduced as a senator who opposes the Empire in Season 1. Season 2 should show more of how she got involved with the rebels to eventually become their leader. Saw Gerrera, a character who originated inStar Wars: The Clone Wars, appeared in Season 1 and will appear again in Season 2. This season should show how the character’s lungs were damaged, which would align with his appearance inRogue One.

The second season ofAndormight also have an exciting cameo. In Season 2, the Death Star is still in the process of being built, andfans have detected from lines in trailersthat the legendary Darth Vader could appear. It would make sense for Vader to show up, considering that the Death Star is a project he oversees.
