Baki Hanma Season 2: The Plot
Before delving into the second season’s plot, it’s always an ideal choice to go over what happened in the previous one. Baki is the son of Yuujirou Hanma, known as “the strongest creature on Earth,” and he made numerous attempts to surpass his father but was unable to do so. Baki, now eighteen years old, spars with an equally formidable beast: a praying mantis determined to overtake his father no matter what.

After gaining sufficient strength to carry out his plans, he abducts American President George Bosch to land in prison. Now imprisoned in the infamous Arizona State Prison, he challenges Olivia Biscuit, known as the strongest man in the United States, to a fight. After displaying their fighting capabilities, they exchanged blows until the last man stood, and Baki emerged triumphant, obtaining a prison pardon.
The second season ofBaki Hanmawill be divided into two parts, with Part 1 named “The Tale of Pickle & The Pickle War Saga” and Part 2 titled “The Father vs. Son Saga.” Given how the first part of the second season teases a new contender for Baki, his fight with Yuuijirou may not take place until the second part.Baki Hanma’s first season finished with a frozen caveman fighting a dinosaur, and we may be witnessing an epic confrontation between these two before the ultimate duel between father and son.

Baki Hanma Season 2: The Cast & Crew
Nobunaga Shimazaki leads the cast as Baki, the main protagonist’s voice actor. The actor made his debut in the industry with one of the mostpopular romance anime,Angel Beats!, and has since landed on other successful anime shows, includingFate/Zero,A Certain Scientific Railgun, andSilver Spoon. His other well-known roles include Tsukasa Fujii inYour Name, Yuki Sohma inFruits Basket, Haruka Nanase inFree!, and Yuno inBlack Clover. He was also nominated for Best in Voice Cast in the Anime Trending Awards in 2022 for his work onFruits Basket.

Pickle will compete against Baki in the second season, who we previously described as a caveman who fought a dinosaur. Takeshi Kusao, well known forhis roles as Kai inAkira, Trunks inDragon Ball, and Hanamichi Sakuragi inSlam Dunk, will voice Pickle. While these two will be the main focus of Part I, Yuujirou Hanma, the strongest person on Earth, will emerge in Part II, with whom Baki will spar, hopefully not to death. Yuuijirou is voiced by Akio Ootsuka, who has appeared in over 490 anime projects, includingGhost in the Shell,Tokyo Godfathers, andPaprika.
