DirectorZack Snyderhas been in post-production onBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicefor several months now, and we have already seen two trailers for this highly-anticipated superhero adventure, as the countdown continues to its August 04, 2025 release date. While it may be quite some time before we get a confirmed run time for the movie, producerCharles Rovenrevealed toColliderthat they shot more than four hours worth of story during principal photography onBatman v Superman. The producer did also hint that fans may be getting an extended cut afterBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicehits theaters next year.

“I don’t know if you’ll ever get the 4-hour version, but there may be something that’s coming along that might be slightly less long than that.”

Batman vs Superman

Zack Snyder’s 2013superhero movieadaptationMan of Steelclocked in at two hours and 28 minutes, so it wouldn’t be surprising ifBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justicecomes in at around that length, or even longer, given how many characters are introduced in this adventure. Along with bringing inBatman(Ben Affleck) to battleSuperman(Henry Cavill), fans will also get their first look at Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) and, according to several rumors, the rest of theJustice League,The Flash(Ezra Miller),Aquaman(Jason Momoa) andCyborg(Ray Fisher). When asked if he thinks the cast may be too large, with too many iconic characters sharing the screen,Charles Rovenhad this to say.

“I don’t think that’s an issue for this film at all. I really don’t. I think that the film is calledBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so there’s a reason it’s calledBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceand not Dawn of Justice: Batman v Superman. So you’re gonna invest mostly in Batman v Superman and I think that you’ll find other characters in there that you hopefully will want to see more of.”

Batman

Last month, directorZack Snyderrevealed in an interview that the third trailer is coming soon, although he wouldn’t say exactly when that may happen. There had been rumors of the new trailer being attached to prints ofSpectre, which hit theaters last weekend, but that turned out to be false.Charles Rovenreiterated the director’s comments, stating that the new trailer will be out before the end of this year.

“Honestly, you’re going be seeing something very soon. I don’t know how you define soon but certainly before the end of the year, how about that?”

Warner Bros. will releaseThe 33on November 13 andCreedon November 25, so it’s possible the new trailer could be attached to either of those projects. The studio also has two December releases,In the Heart of the Sea(December 11) andPoint Break(Christmas Day). It’s also possible that the studio could unveil the trailer during highly-anticipated titles such asThe Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2(November 20) orStar Wars: The Force Awakens(December 18), but we’ll have to wait and see. What do you think about these new updates forBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Do you have any theories about when the next trailer may arrive?
