A new Audi promotional video starring Robert Downey Jr. may have just revealed a pretty bigAvengers: Endgamespoiler. Marvel Studios and the German automaker have partnered up to introduce the new Audi e-tron GT in the highly anticipated movie, which hits theaters early next year. It’s unclear how the new car will be included inAvengers: Endgame, but the new promo video may have just let out a pretty big spoiler having to do with Tony Stark.
TheAvengers: Endgametrailer was released last week and things look pretty bad forTony Stark. He andNebulaare drifting through space on the Benatar without any food or water, which prompts Stark to send a final message to Pepper Potts. Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are left to speculate if and how Stark survives. But, the new Audi promo video contains an interesting exchange between Robert Downey Jr. and Audi Head of Design Marc Lichte. At the end of the video, Downey Jr. says that he would finally like to drive the car. Lichte says that he already has which prompts the actor to remember and say, “As Tony Stark inAvengers 4out Spring 2019.”
Obviously, this points to Tony Stark getting off theBenatarand surviving at the beginning ofAvengers: Endgame. It doesn’t prove it though, because the Audi scene in question could be a flashback since we know that time travel and the Quantum Realm will be involved. However, it is pretty hard to believe that the Russo Brothers would kill off Iron Man at the beginning of the movie, though they could still very well pull that off. Additionally, leaked set photos show what appears to be an older Stark with the rest of the crew.
The Russo Brothers and Marvel Studios are keeping all details aboutAvengers: Endgameto themselves. Scarlett Johansson didn’t even know that the trailer had dropped last week until someone told her. The actors didn’t even know the real title until it was announced with the trailer drop. Plus, the cast weren’t even given full scripts whilefilming in Atlanta. Instead, they were only given pages at a time and if they wanted to read the full script, they had to go to a special room that was on lockdown without their personal cellphones.
TheAvengers: Endgametrailer does a great job of showing the world after the Thanos' snap that wiped out half of the universe. Everything is dark and some of our favorite heroes are believed to be dead or about to die of starvation on a stranded spacecraft. Things look pretty bleak, but we now know that we’ll at least get to see Tony Stark driving that new Audi in the movie after escaping space. We’ll just have to wait and see how he gets back to Earth.
