For many years, Lionsgate dominated the season with theirSawfranchise, which the studio is resurrecting withSaw: Legacynext year. But in 2016, the studio is taking a more comedic approach withBoo! A Madea Halloween, hitting theaters October 21. Today we have the second trailer for this horror-comedy, along with a new poster and photos, which spoofs a few of your favorite horror movies, includingSaw.
InTyler Perry’sBoo! A Madea Halloween, Madea winds up in the middle of mayhem when she spends a hilarious, haunted Halloween fending off killers, paranormal poltergeists, ghosts, ghouls, and zombies while keeping a watchful eye on a group of misbehaving teens. The film’s origins date back to whenPerryandChris Rockcame together to include a fictitious Madea Halloween movie inChris Rock’s filmTop Five. Lionsgate then approachedPerryand suggested that they make the movie for real.
Tyler Perrywill play the roles ofMadea, in addition to the roles of Joe and Brian. The film will also starBella Thorneas Rain,Cassi Davisas Aunt Bam,Patrice Lovelyas Hattie,Andre Hallas Quinton,Yousef Erakatas Jonathan,Lexy Panterraas Leah,Diamond Whiteas Tiffany,Liza Koshyas Aday,Brock O’Hurnas Horse,Jimmy Tatroas Sean,JC Caylenas Mikey,Kian Lawleyas Bean Boy, andMike Tornabeneas “Dino.” Production took place in Atlanta earlier this year at Tyler Perry Studios.
