A short teaser for Christopher Nolan’sTenethas been released. For those looking to avoid spoilers, you don’t have to worry at all about the video that was posted on social media earlier today. The teaser, is just the movie’s logo spinning in a circle while the background changes from white to black. There is no sound and there was no comment written in the caption. The cryptic tease offers a lot more questions than answers and people are already trying to figure out what it all means.

The firstTenet teaser trailerwas surprise-released in front ofHobbs & Shaw, which debuted in August. That footage didn’t really give anything away and seemed to point at anInception type movie with time travelthrown into the mix. So far, the studio has only said thatTenetis “an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage,” which leaves a lot to the imagination. Aside from the vague description, we know it was shot in 7 countries and it stars Robert Pattinson, John David Washington, Elizabeth Debicki, Michael Caine, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Kenneth Branagh.

While we don’t know a whole lot about the movie from just looking at thisTenet motion poster, we might get a better idea of what the story is about very soon. It has been reported that the prologue to Christopher Nolan’s next movie will screen in IMAX Theaters ahead ofThe Rise of Skywalker, which hits theaters next week. Beyond that, the first official trailer is expected to drop soon after, though a release date has yet to be confirmed as of this writing. As with anything Nolan does, we’re only going to get the bare minimum when it comes to revealing any information.

Christopher Nolan likes to change up the pace when it comes to delivering movies to audiences. He has done the superhero genre withThe Dark Knighttrilogy and was even on set withRobert Pattinsonwhen he learned he was going to star in Matt Reeves’The Batman. He has explored the world of dream inInception, the concepts of time inInterstellar, identity inThe Prestige, and tackled many other subjects over the years. All of the movies feel like a Nolan production, whether he’s tackling World War II or caped crusaders.

Tenethits theaters on July 17th, 2020. Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who stars in the movie, has revealed that Christopher Nolan is “definitely trying to push the boundaries of cinema, in high concepts and sci-fi concepts, and the cinematic side of things is extraordinary to watch.” While Taylor Johnson wanted to go into more detail, he knows he is not allowed to really talk about the specifics. “It was a real honor and pleasure to be in his presence, and to work on that movie. But to be honest, there’s nothing else I can really say about it.” That sounds good enough for now. You can check out the cryptic teaser above, thanks to theTenet Film Twitteraccount.
