Unfortunately, not much is known about the story. Although the director did tease that they may film in South Africa.
Just over a year ago,Don Manciniteased on Twitter that he was writing the script forChucky 7, but the filmmaker never revealed any further updates until this week.Don Mancini’s first tweets includedJennifer Tilly’sTwitterhandle, but earlier today,Fiona Dourifsent out a tweet about packing for South Africa. The filmmaker responded that she should “just bring the wheelchair, I’ll bring the blood.”
Curse of Chuckywas set after the events ofSeed of Chucky, followingFiona Dourif’s Nica, a young woman forced to a wheelchair since birth. She has to regroup her sister, Barb and her brother-in-law, Ian for a funeral after the death of her mother. While dealing with Barb, Ian, along with their 5-year-old daughter, Alice, Nica receives an odd package - a creepy doll. After people start showing up dead, the fearless Nica soon suspects that thecreepy dollis much more than just a doll.Chucky 7’s IMDB page has the followingplot rundown, which also teases the return ofJennifer Tilly’s character Tiffany, Chucky’s ex-wife.

Curse of Chuckywas produced by Universal 1440 Entertainment, a home video division of Universal Pictures which produces straight-to-video sequels. The division, which recently producedThe Man with the Iron Fists 2,Tremors 5: Bloodlinesand the upcomingKindergarten Cop 2, is listed as the production company onChucky 7, although we don’t know when production may begin, or if the company has a release date mapped out.
