Civil War Post-Credit Scenes Set Up These 2 Marvel Movies?

Every time a new Marvel movie is released, some fans look forward to the inevitable post-credit scenes more than the movie itself. Most times, these extra scenes help set up a future MCU movie, like the scene inAnt-Manthat links up with next week’sCaptain America: Civil War, hitting theaters in just nine short days on May 6. WhileCaptain America: Civil Warhas already screened for members of the press, the movie has also opened in a number of international markets, with new reports coming in about apost-credit scenethat wasn’t shown to journalists in the U.S. or the U.K. There will be potential SPOILERS below, so read on at your own risk.

This new report comes fromComic Book Movie, which offers a description of theend-credits scenethat was shown in international markets such as France and Korea. The scene in question involves the newSpider-Man(Tom Holland), although it isn’t known why Marvel decided against showcasing this scene during U.S. and U.K. press screenings. Take a look at the description of this scene below.

“The scene opens with Peter Parker playing around with his web-shooters (though these are ones which were seemingly rebuilt for him by Tony Stark) as he has a conversation with his Aunt May. All of a sudden, a red beam shines from it, something he’s forced to hide when she walks into his bedroom. All the while, they’re talking about Peter’s black eye, one he admits he got from a guy called Steve from Brooklyn…yes, THAT Steve from Brooklyn! There’s some fun banter between Peter and his hot aunt - including a subtle reference to Giant-Man - and then Peter shines the beam up at the ceiling, revealing the classic red Spidey logo he would shine on criminals in the comics, only it’s now some sort of computer interface. The screen goes to black, and we see ‘Spider-Manwill return.'”

The Steve from Brooklyn is of course Steve Rogers, aka Captain America. And there have been plenty of rumors thatAnt-Manwill transform intoGiant-Manat some point inCaptain America: Civil War. It’s also not surprising that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) would build Peter new web shooters. And this is someting we heard dating back to before the movie went into production. Sony showcased a scene fromCaptain America: Civil Warat CinemaCon in Las Vegas earlier this month, which featured Peter Parker coming home from school, only to find Tony Stark in his living room with Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), to discuss a new “grant” opportunity.Robert Downey Jr.was recently confirmed to star in the Marvel/Sony adventureSpider-Man: Homecoming, which is set for release on July 03, 2025.

There have been reports in the past that there may be at least three post-credit scenes inCaptain America: Civil War, but it’s possible that this scene may only be used for international markets, especially since it was withheld from the press. One of the post-credit scenes that U.S. and U.K. audiences did see shows Bucky, aka TheWinter Soldier, being put into a cryogenic facility, until “they can find a way to get the stuff out of his head.” Bucky will be kept at this facility in Wakanda, whereBlack Panther(Chadwick Boseman) vows to protect Bucky. These two post-credit scenes obviosly help set up both theBlack PantherandSpider-Manmovies. It’s possible that this scene won’t be shown during international screenings, but we’ll have to wait and see. It’s possible there may be another post-credit scene that teases the next MCU adventure,Doctor Strange, which hits theaters on November 4. We haven’t heard any details about that, though, so we’ll have to wait until next week to see which Marvel movies are truly set up in theCivil Warend-credits.
