The writer behind savage black comedy outingCocaine Bear, Jimmy Warden, has been talking sequels – and wants to see the grizzly go into space. Maybe. Speaking withVariety, Warden addressed the teasing ending of the firstCocaine Bear, which lands in theaters imminently, declaring that he would like to take things cosmic.

“Yeah, for sure. Not just a sequel. Many sequels. “Cocaine Bear in Space” is where we would probably end.”

After admitting that he is in fact joking (though now the idea ofCocaine Bear in Spaceis out there, there is likely no stopping it), Warden revealed that he is not kidding around when it comes to sequels, with the writer already stewing over several ideas.

“No, I’m f—ing with you about “Cocaine Bear Goes to Space.” But for the sequels, I definitely have ideas for that. The bear’s not the bad guy in this movie. What happened is a product of circumstance and everybody else’s poor decisions. I think that is a story that we can continue to tell over and over again. I’d be excited to tell it because there are some really good ideas that we have for the subsequent movies.”

This is not the first time that Warden has hinted at aCocaine Bearfranchise-slash-shared universe.Speaking exclusively with MovieWeb’s own Jeremy Dick, the screenwriter declared that he is far from done with the adventures of the booger sugar bear, praising some of the spinoff ideas that he has seen floating around.

“I’m not done with theCocaine Bearsaga yet but, as for spinoffs, I’ve seen some great ideas in the corners of the internet,” he said. “It feels like we’ll have every animal in existence do cocaine until we come full circle and just make movies about humans doing it again. Then we’ll move on to MDMA and ayahuasca, etc. There’s no limit.”
