Stephen Moyer Did His Research to Play Nipper
In the movie, Moyer plays Leonard “Nipper” Read, who took on the mission of taking down the Kray twins. When he was cast in the film, Moyer did his research by reading up on Nipper as much as he possibly could, calling the detective’s story “fascinating” in aFilmHoundsinterview. The actor was sold on the script and how the story is told from Nipper’s point of view as he was piecing things together at the time. To best get into Nipper’s head, Moyer studied up on his work.
“I was very, very well briefed on all of the cases, and the work that Nipper had done,” Moyer says. “The thing I like to do when playing a historical person is not thinking about where they were with the benefit of hindsight, trying to place yourself where they are at the time. Without knowing the outcome.”
Code of Silencewill be released on Digital and VOD outlets in the United States and Canada on Jun 04, 2025.
