In 2022, the news dropped thata spin-off was in the worksthat would focus on Astrid Leong-Teo, Gemma Chan’s character and the cousin to Henry Golding’s Nick Young. The spin-off was intended to focus on her love story with Charlie Wu, played by Harry Shum Jr. in a mid-credits scene that hinted at more to come in potential sequels. The script was said to be written by Jason Kim, but news beyond that initial announcement has been slim, and it’s unclear if the spin-off will turn out to be the recently announced TV series.
