There are plenty of new shows in the works at Disney, and we have not heard much about several of them. This may be the right time to release some important info about some of the least talked about shows in production. It may also be the right time to letStar Warsfans know some secret facts about the shows we’re most excited for.

More Information About Lesser-Known Star Wars Projects

The most recent line of announcements came with theStar WarsCelebration, which was back in May. So, we can expect a lot of progress has been made since then. We heard updates onBad Batchseason 2,Tales of the Jedi, andStar Wars: Visions Volume 2, but now we’re hoping for some info on the projects that are a bit farther out. TheStar Warspanel might clue us to shows likeAhsoka, Lando,orThe Acolyte.Skeleton Crewis also one we are all curious about. Grogu Mandalorian Star Wars Lucasfilm

An exciting time in theStar Warsuniverse takes place beforeA New Hope.Tales of the Jedi, Bad Batch, Andor, andLandooccur during this time. We might hope to hear something aboutRogue Squadronas well. The Patty Jenkins’Star Warsfilm was announced long ago and has slowly fallen off the radar. Meant to be a follow-up toRogue One,Rogue Squadronis still scheduled to be released in December 2023, but some believe the movie might be dead.

Better news will hopefully come for projects likeLando, which had just started filming before this year’sStar WarsCelebration and has likely moved up in Disney’s priorities. D23 might see the release of an exclusive trailer or some behind-the-scenes footage forDonald Glover’sStar Warscharacter. We’re also hoping to hear some more concrete info about two of Lucasfilm’s most mysterious projects:The Acolyte, which takes place deep in the past of the timeline during the age of the High Republic, andStar Wars: Lost Horizons, which happens far in the future, decades after the destruction of the Empire.

Release Dates for The Mandalorian and Boba Fett

In recent years,Star Warsshows have been organized by the major timelines in which they take place. Everything is based around the Battle of Yavin when the Rebels destroyed the second Death Star at the end ofReturn of the Jedi. Many of the new shows we want to learn about take place around the same time asThe Mandalorian, after the Battle of Yavin. Hopefully, we’ll get a solid release date forThe Mandalorianseason 3, as well as updates onThe Book of Boba Fettseason 2, all of which take place in this era of the New Republic.

More Details on Celebration Reveals

There are certainly a lot of upcomingStar Warsprojects, and Dave Filoni and the rest of Lucasfilm’s staff have been busy. Everyone is talking about the newest addition to the canon:Andor. But with plenty of other upcoming shows taking place all over theStar Warsuniverse for fans both young and old, there will be a lot to discuss. Disney has a few surprises planned for those in attendance as well.

Here is the officialD23announcement:

“Filmmakers, celebrity talent, and surprise guests will join representatives from Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm, among others, onstage in Hall D23 at 10 a.m. to showcase theatrical and Disney+ titles. Going behind the scenes of these studios’ highly anticipated films, specials, and series, attendees will see exclusive footage and be among the first to learn what else is in the works.”

So, those going to the expo might be privy to some pretty cool information. But for the rest of us, it would be nice to see an extensive release schedule, like Disney did for the MCU at San Diego Comic-Con. President of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, said in March that they talked with filmmakers about making more projects they would reveal at Celebration. Now that some time has passed, there might be more progress on these talks, and D23 could be Lucasfilm’s opportunity to show a few more new things they’ve put in the pipeline since May.
