Just last week, we got our first look at the new DC comedy seriesPowerlesswith two photos and a poster. Today, we have the trailer. It made its premiere earlier this week during NBC’s upfront presentation in New York City. Now, it has made its way online thanks to a contributor atReddit. And as you can see, the first footage wastes not time referencingBatman V Supermanwhile giving both Wonder Woman and Aquaman a shout-out. We also get to see Crimson Fox in action as she catches a train.

Powerlessis NBC’s firstDC Comics TV show, and it’s different in that it’s a workplace comedy. Some have called itSupergirlmeets theOffice, and the first trailer sure does give off that vibe, though it looks decidedly more action packed than your average sitcom. Just last week, the network announced a series order for this latest addition to the DC Comics extended universe. No premiere date has been set at this time, but it is being held for midseason.

Vanessa Hudgens,Danny PudiandAlan Tudykheadline the comedy.Hudgens(Grease Live,High School Musical) plays Emily, a spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by thecrime-fighting superheroes. It’s when she stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute) that she accidentally becomes a cult “hero” in her own right…Even if it’s just to her group of lovably quirky co-workers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.

The cast also includesChristina Kirkin a lead role. The supporting cast is rounded out byJohn Lithgow,Nicholas D’Agosto,Jayma Mays,Sherri Shepherd,Steven BoyerandKrysta Rodriguez. The show is a half-hour single-camera comedy series from creatorBen Queen, who previously created NBC’s short-lived sitcomA to Z.Michael Patrick Janndirected the pilot episode, and will executive produce withBen Queen. It has been rumored that the show will feature appearances from numerous different DC Comics characters. Although, aside fromCrimson Fox, no specific characters have been mentioned.

Along with the trailer, you can take a look at the photos that were released last week. We’re not sure when an official trailer will debut, but this first look footage certainly gives us an idea of what audiences are in store for. With the show premiering on NBC, it’s not immediately clear if any crossovers are a possibility, sense the tone is considerably different from the The CW TV shows and Gotham. And on the movie side of the DC Universe, there is a strict ‘no jokes’ policy in place for most of their projects. Though, we could see Emily facing off against some of DC’s big power players. For the time being, it looks like she’ll be dealing with some of the lesser known characters in the DC Universe. At least this footage stands as proof that Aquaman and Wonder Woman do exist in this world. But which plane of existence it takes place on has yet to be revealed.
