Did Luke Cage Survive Thanos' Infinity War Decimation?

Luke Cagestar Mike Colter confirms that his character did not survive the Decimation at the conclusion ofInfinity War. Thanos' actions had big consequences and Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are waiting to see how the mess is cleaned up with the upcomingAvengers: Endgame. At the end of last year, Netflix shocked MCU fans when they announced the cancellation ofLuke Cage,Iron Fist, andDaredevil. Many assumed that the shows were cancelled due to the emergence of Disney+, but at this time, these shows still aren’t happening again any time soon.

In a new interview, Mike Colter was asked about his further involvement in the MCU. Specifically, Colter was asked if he has a role in the highly anticipatedAvengers: Endgamesince he didn’t appear inInfinity War, which is when he dropped the surprising Decimation news. The actor revealed that he and the rest of the cast ofLuke Cageare not in the movie. He explains.

“Am I inAvengers: Endgame? Well, you know what? Based off what happened, I’m already dead, the snap has already happened withLuke Cage. We’re dead, we’re already gone! I hate to break it down, break people’s… but no, no, we’re not.”

Mike Colter could be usingthe Decimationas a way of talking about Netflix cancelingLuke Cage, which is fitting. However, much like T’Challa and Peter Parker, there may be a pretty good chance that Cage returns. Colter continued speaking about appearing as the iconic character again down the road, either on the big or small screen. He had this to say.

“Absolutely, I’d be down for (movies).Anything is possible. These things are sort of up in the air, at this moment. It’s pretty fresh. We got canceled on October 19th, or something like that I think the date was. So yeah, it’s still pretty fresh. We’ll see. With time, they’ll probably be some more clarity for everybody whether we’re actually gonna be involved in anything else.”

Marvel’sThe Punisheris just starting its promotional campaign, having released the first Season 2 trailer earlier this week, along with a bunch of other teases. The show will premiere on January 18th, andMCU fansare waiting for the axe to drop on that series as well, even though it’s one of the more popular out of the group. The same can be said forJessica JonesSeason 3, which will also be released in the near future.

Obviously, the best place for all of the Marvel Netflix shows that have been cancelled would be Disney+. But, there have not been any announcements about those shows continuing on with Disney’s new streaming platform, though there have been plenty of rumors.
