While attending the red carpet premiere ofRock the Kasbah, Bruce Willis shed some new light onDie Hard 6, revealing he’s excited to tell John McClane’s origin story.
“It’s a very good idea, a really tricky idea, and I’m very happy about it. It’s a really cool idea, because it’s the origin story. It’s gonna happen at the beginning of this. We’re going to bounce back and forth.”
The project will reuniteBruce WilliswithLive Free or Die HarddirectorLen Wiseman, who is set to direct and is currently developing the sequel with producerLorenzo di Bonaventura. The producers are currently seeking a screenwriter to craft this new story.Bruce Willisadded that he is “probably” going to produce the sequel withLen WisemanandLorenzo di Bonaventura, but he isn’t quite sure yet who will play the young John McClane.

There was a rumor back in 2013 that this new sequel would be set in Tokyo, but it’s clear that they’re going in a different direction now.
Way back in 2010,Bruce Willissaid he wants to “retire” his John McClane character afterDie Hard 6, but it isn’t known if this will actually be his final performance as McClane.
