She-Hulk: Attorney at Lawhas divided many fans based on the initial trailer, with many complaints being aimed at the appearance of Tatiana Maslaney’s titular heroine. Whether it has been complaints over her size, or the CGI look of her skin, which many have called out as cartoonish, the upcoming series can’t seem to cut a break with those who want to nit-pick over every detail of Marvel’s offerings. Now the series director has responded to the criticisms of the show’s VFX as seen so far.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Lawis set to arrive on Disney+ next month, and it has been a long-awaited addition to the Marvel family. Featuring the return of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and Tim Roth as The Abomination, the show also introduces Jameela Jamil as the villain Titania, and will likely contain a number of other surprises. However, as with many Marvel projects, there are plenty of social media memes and posts that take a shot at the series before it is even aired an episode, and directorKat Coirohas said that she was very much prepared for mixed opinions. She toldSFX Magazine:

“It really is taking the design and asking, ‘Are we getting those facial expressions and those nuances of reaction? That is where all the time comes into play, just really honing in. I think a lot of the reactions have to do with the fact that she is so different than anything we’ve seen. When you think of Thanos or Hulk, they have a grisliness and a harshness and a bulkiness to them that is just so different. And when you just see a little pop of her, it’s almost shocking because we haven’t seen it before.”

Jameela Jamil Recently Defended the Show Against Online Trolls
AsShe-Hulk: Attorney at Lawgets closer to its release date we will be seeing a lot more promotional material being released. This has included behind-the-scenes images revealed inEmpire Magazine, and even those were commented on harshly by some Twitter users. Among those images were some ofJameela Jamil’s Titania in full costume. The images, which were taken during filming, led to comments saying the hair and make-up department were letting the side down and the costume of the villain looked “cheap.” The actress however wasn’t allowing the trolls to go unchallenged and responded on her own account. She said:
“Omg this photo.. Guys… I accept every ounce of shade here, but in defense of my excellent hair stylist, this is just my hair after a 14 hour stunt day in atlanta heat. Just after being upside down. She did a great job on the show I promise. I love her. Boobs look ok tho?”
Many other Marvel fans are more than happy to reserve judgment for the show when it arrives on Disney+ at the end of August, by which time we will have likely had another trailer, which will no doubt be picked apart by the internet in advance of the show’s premiere.
