Some newly revealed merchandise for Marvel outingDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessmay have just revealed a huge surprise, with a t-shirt suggesting that a variant version ofThe Avengerscould be coming to Doctor Strange’s aid. Unveiled by Twitter userLe QG des Supers, and listed on Amazon, the merch itself does not give too much away, simply showing an image of the familiarAvengerslogo. It is the description alongside it that offers the real juicy details…
“Experience Doctor Stephen Strange in a whole new mind-bending adventure with Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This Avengers t-shirt showcases the Avengers logo for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes that might just be from a whole new multiverse.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessis already expected to be vastly epic in scope, as The Master of the Mystic Arts attempts to fix the slowly corroding barriers keeping the multiverse at bay. Thanks to the events ofSpider-Man: No Way Home, which finds Doctor Strange casting a botched spell and unleashing the madness of the multiverse on the MCU,Doctor Strange 2will see the character embark on a mission to stop an alternate version of himself, whose threat to humanity is too great for the combined forces of Strange, Wong, and Wanda Maximoff AKA The Scarlet Witch.
Whether an alternate version ofThe Avengerswill make an appearance is far from confirmed, but with the threat inherent inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesslooking to be far more than Strange and his allies can handle, it is certainly possible that he will turn to multiversal heroes for help. While the line-up of this potential variant Avengers also remaining a mystery, it stands to reason that, with the movie’s main villain being the Dark Doctor Strange who was introduced in the animated seriesWhat If…?,Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesscould see live action versions of Captain Carter and the rest of the Guardians of the Multiverse. Could this even be howThe Fantastic FourandThe X-Menare introduced into theMarvel Cinematic Universe?
Several Variants & Villains Have Already Been Confirmed for Doctor Strange 2
Despite the merchandise on display here,The Avengersmaking an appearance is still speculative at this stage. However, earlier merch has confirmed that several variants and villains will feature inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, including several versions of the titular doctor anda tentacled villain that should be familiar to Marvel Comics fans.
Alongside Dark Doctor Strange, a version of the character who has been corrupted by his use of magic from The Dark Dimension, theDoctor Strangesequel will introduce audiences tothe magnificently pony-tailed Defender Strange. In the comics, Defender Strange is a member of a superhero team that consists of Hulk, Namor, The Silver Surfer, and Valkyrie, and could step in to assist our Doctor Strange in his battle with himself and Gargantos, a giant, one-eyed, tentacled monster.
Expect many more mysteries to present themselves beforeDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesshits theaters on August 24, 2025, as part of Phase Four of the MCU.
