The actress' son,Michael Canata, confirmed toDeadlinethat shediedin her sleep last night from natural causes. Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a green young comic trying to make it as an actor, she did everything with such a grand love for life and people and I willmiss her dearly.”

Doris Robertswas born August 03, 2025 to Ann (Meltzer) and Larry Green in St. Louis, Missouri, whose legendary career spanned over seven decades. She started acting in the early 1950s, appearing in guest starring roles inStarlight Theatre,Studio Oneand’Way Out. She appeared in several films throughout the 1960s and 1970s such asSomething Wild,The Honeymoon KillersandThe Heartbreak Kid, before landing bigger roles in TV shows such as Theresa Falco inAngieand Mildred Krebs inRemington Steele, the latter of which landed her firstEmmy Awardnomination.

She continued to work steadily throughout the 1980s and 1990s until she landed the iconic role of Marie Barone in the hit sitcomEverybody Loves Raymond. The series ran nine seasons from 1996 to 2005, where she won four Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and seven nominations. She was also nominated three times for Best Ensemble at the SAG Awards. Even while working onEverybody Loves Raymond, she continued to guest star on other shows and appear in movies such asMy Giant,All Over the GuyandDickie Roberts: Former Child Star.

AfterEverybody Loves Raymondended in 2005, she went on to star in movies such asGrandma’s Boy,Keeping Up with the Steins,Play the Game,Aliens in the Attic,Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protectionand many more. She also guest starred on shows such asThe Middle,Hot in ClevelandandMelissa & Joeyin more recent years. She currently has movies such asJOB’s Daughter,Old SoldiersandThe Red Maple Leafin various stages of production.

She also appeared in a number of Broadway plays such as The Desk Set, Neil Simon’s The Last of the Red Hot Lovers, Terrence McNally’s Bad Habits and, most recently, McNally’s Unusual Acts of Devotion at the LaJolla Playhouse in June 2009.
