Fans of A24’sEverything Everywhere All at Onceare getting another chance to see the acclaimed feature on the big screen, as it makes its return to theaters at the end of this month. Better yet, the re-release comes with bonus content to enhance the experience. This includes an all-new intro video that will be played at the start of the movie featuring the Daniels, the movie’s directing duo of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. Also included will be eight minutes worth of outtakes, and given the nature of the film, we can only imagine how wild some of those will be.

Everything Everywhere All at Oncestars Michelle Kwan as a woman being audited by the Internal Revenue Service who teams up with parallel universe versions of herself to help save the multiverse. While reminiscent of Marvel movies likeSpider-Man: No Way HomeandDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,Everything Everywhere All at Onceis much more comedic, embracing its absurdist nature with highly entertaining results. The film has garnered widespread acclaim and ranks at 95% fresh at Rotten Tomatoes.

“Yeah, it took six years, and a couple of hundred people,” co-director Daniel Scheinert toldComicsBeatabout where the concept came from. “But it started with us having just madeSwiss Army Man, wondering what we do next. And journalists being like, ‘Are you guys gonna do like a Marvel movie next?’ And I think it made our brains go: what kind of action sci-fi like, what would we want to make? And we started chewing on this multi-verse jumping premise.”

On putting together the stellar cast, the co-director added, “Back then there was a moment when we decided it could be an ode to kung fu movies and that style of action, which we love. We could cast those actors that we admire. Then the family would be Chinese American, which would be something we hadn’t gotten a chance to explore in our work. That was when we’re like, ‘Let’s write that. I think that sounds exciting.'”
