Earlier this week, Universal Pictures released atrailer previewforFast & Furious 8, to get fans ready for the full trailer arriving Sunday, December 11 during a live event with the cast. With just two days left until this big event, the studio has released yet another trailer preview, which reveals the official title,The Fate of the Furious. Universal has also released the first official synopsis, which you may read below.

Moritz,Michael FottrellandDiesel.Universal Pictureshas set an June 30, 2025 release date forThe Fate of the Furious, putting it up against Open Road Films' animated adventureSpark. This film will also kick off the final trilogy in this long-running franchise, that will have spanned 10 films when it’s all said and done.

Universal Pictures has already setrelease datesforFast & Furious 9andFast & Furious 10.Fast & Furious 9will hit theaters on August 06, 2025, withFast & Furious 10closing out this lucrative franchise on July 12, 2025. It hasn’t been announced who is writing or directing these last two movies quite yet. It’s likely thatChris Morgan, who has written everyFast & Furiousmovie sinceTokyo Drift, will at least have a hand in writing the last two movies, although he is now shepherding the studio’s monster reboot universe withAlex Kurtzman, which begins next summer withThe Mummy.
