What Fans Are Saying About ‘Fear Street: Prom Queen’
While it may be number one on Netflix,Fear Street: Prom Queenis far from number one in the hearts of fans who were expecting big things from director Matt Palmer’s new movie after the success of the first trilogy. Unfortunately, Rotten Tomatoes user Amanda B says it’s “so ridiculously cheesy it was laughable.” Ouch! “Nothing frustrates me more than for a franchise to raise the bar and a sequel simply use the name to get views or sell tickets,” commented another user, who added:
“Honestly it’s hard to find a single aspect about this movie that was a bright spot […] This film is so bad you may’t tell if the director is making an attempt at humor or actual horror. Watch at your own risk.”

Lots of other users commented with similar sentiments, with many noting that it “ruined” the franchise for them, and they won’t even bother watching anotherFear Streetmovie should one be made. It’s sad, really, as the series had such potential after the first three movies were lauded for breathing fresh air into the slasher genre. Now,Prom Queenhas taken the wind out of everyone’s sails, leaving us all to ask, “What’s next?”
We’re sure Netflix will make another one at some point, but it’ll definitely be following in some pretty muddy footsteps. Here’s hoping whoever sits in the director’s chair next will get it back on track, because as it stands now,Prom Queenis about as forgettableas some of the films it tries to emulate. If you want to see what all the fuss is about, it’s now available to stream on Netflix.
