Back in June, production got rolling onAnnabelle 2, New Line’s upcominghorror sequelthat continues the story of the iconic doll fromThe Conjuring. We haven’t seen or heard much since then, but earlier today, directorDavid F. Sandbergsent out a first look photo, which finds the director setting the doll in place. He also announced that the first “announcement trailer” for the sequel will arrive tomorrow.

Annabelle 2follows a dollmaker and his wife, who welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, several years after the tragic death of their little girl. The nun and these girls soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation,Annabelle. The director revealed the first photo onTwitter, although we don’t know if he will be debuting thenew traileron Twitter himself.

New Line Cinema has set a May 19, 2017release datefor this horror sequel, which will go up against a number of summer heavy hitters. The sequel will arrive alongside the highly-anticipatedBaywatchstarringDwayne Johnson, the animated sequelThe Nut Job 2and the family sequelDiary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. While this horror sequel may not earn as much as those other movies, it may still be one of the most profitable movies of summer 2017.

The originalAnnabellewas one of themost profitablemovies of 2014, pulling in $84.2 million domestically and $172.6 million internationally for $256.8 million worldwide, from just a $6.5 million budget. No budget figures were given forAnnabelle 2, so we’ll have to wait and see if it will be as profitable as its predecessor.
