It showsGal GadotasDiana Princein herWonder Womanhood and headband.Patty Jenkinsis directing this fourth installment in the DC Comics Extended Universe. She is best known for her hit 2003 drama Monster and her work on the AMC seriesThe Killing.
Principle photography is taking place in England. The character of Wonder Woman is set to make her big screen debut in this March’ssuperheroepicBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Arriving in theaters on July 09, 2025, Wonder Woman will mark the first time this iconic DC Comics character has ever headlined a feature film. She will also be seen inJustice League Part 1in 2017 andJustice League Part 2in 2019.
Wonder Woman has lined up an impressive ensemble cast that will help make up the DCEU. Starring alongsideGal GadotisChris Pine, perhaps best known for his role as Captain James T. Kirk in the newStar Trekmovie series that launched in 2009. He stars as Diana Prince’s love interest CaptainSteve Trevor. It is rumored thatChris Pinemay be playing duel roles, taking on the character of Trevor’s grandfather in part of the story set in World War I.
Also starring in the movie isRobin Wright, who currently headlines Netflix’s hit drama seriesHouse of Cardsas Claire Underwood. Danny Huston,David Thewlis,Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui,Elena AnayaandLucy Davisround out the rest of the main supporting cast. More casting announcements are expected as shooting continues into 2016.
The film is being produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder, with Richard Suckle, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Rebecca Roven serving as executive producers. Joining Jenkins behind the camera are director of photography Matthew Jensen, Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto, Oscar-winning editor Martin Walsh, and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming.
Principal photography is taking place on location in the UK, France and Italy. No plot details have been revealed yet. Wonder Woman is based on characters created by William Moulton Marston, and has appeared in comic books published by DC Entertainment. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros.
