12 Clever Easter Eggs Hidden in Five Nights at Freddy’s
There are a number of moments in the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie made just for fans of the franchise.
Five Nights at Freddy’sfans will no doubt be breathing a huge sigh of relief over the reported trilogy and plans to get production on the third movie promptly underway. The first film was announced in 2015, but it then took eight years to arrive in theaters (and on Peacock). Its sequel,Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, isscheduled to be released on Aug 12, 2025, more than two years after the first film. However, if filming onFive Nights at Freddy’s 3starts up later this year, then there could be a significantly shorter wait for the next movie to come out.

‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ Is Expected to Be a Box Office Juggernaut
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2wasofficially confirmed by Universal and Blumhousein April last year, nearly four months after the first film made its debut and quickly established itself as a box office hit. The movie grossed over $291 million worldwide, with $137 million from theaters in the U.S. and Canada, and $154 million internationally, against a budget of just $20 million, making it the most successful horror movie of the year and Blumhouse’s highest-grossing film worldwide, surpassing the $278 million made by M. Night Shyamalan’s 2016 hitSplit.
Tammi has returned to helmFive Nights at Freddy’s 2, promising the film will be “bigger and scarier” than the first, which saw a troubled security guard attempt to survive the night while working the late shift at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. The sequel brings back Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, and Matthew Lillard, all reprising their roles from the first film, with Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, and Teo Briones joining the cast. Theroster of animatronic antagonistswill also be expanding, raising the stakes and the scares even higher.

With fans of the first film expecting more of the same but on a larger scale, the chances areFive Nights at Freddy’s 2will build on the winning formula of its predecessor and see another clean-up at the box office, especially since, this time, the movie will be released exclusively in theaters, unlike the first movie, which had a day and date release in theaters and on Peacock. This means the only way to watch the sequel when it’s out will be to buy a ticket to see it in theaters, though the movie will also likely make its way to streaming at a later date.
