As the project rolled around in development hell, Kenan would end up exiting withGremlinshelmer Chris Columbus coming on board to direct. Continued delays would ultimately result in Columbus departing the project as well. Emma Tammi is who would end up directing the film that’s now in production. The movie will presumably have a plot that’s similar to the video games that it’s based on, though no specifics have been revealed for the feature film adaptation. The original video game is set in a Chuck E. Cheese-style restaurant called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, featuring animatronic animals who sing and dance to entertain children. At night, however, the animatronics roam the building ready to attack anyone that’s human, and the night shift guard must utilize security camera footage and security doors to prevent them getting into the security office.
