Over the summer, we’ve heard about numerous additions toThe Flashcast forSeason 2, many of whom are characters from theDC Comics. Today we have word that the hit series has added two more characters to its growing roster, withTV Linereporting that newcomerViolett Beanehas signed on to star as Jesse Quick.ComicBook.comis also reporting that Demore Barnes has been cast as Henry Hewitt, a.k.a. Tokamak.
Jesse Quick is described as a brilliant and quirky college student who somehow gets involved in a battle betweenThe FlashandSeason 2’s primary villain, Zoom, who has not been cast yet. The character will appear in multiple episodes, but it isn’t clear when she will make her debut. In the original comics, Jesse Quick is the daughter of Golden Age heroes Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle, but it isn’t known if those characters will surface in Central City as well.
Demore Barnes' Henry Hewitt is a cocky and charming scientist who was also affected by the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator explosion that gaveBarry Allen(Grant Gustin) his super powers. He becomes recruited byDanielle Panabaker’s Caitlin Snow to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, giving this villainous character a chance to become a powerful meta-human. In the comics, Hewitt was the head of an energy conglomerate that tried to get Congress to manipulate energy markets. He was also a notable villain for Firestorm, played byRobbie AmellandVictor Garberon the show, who tried to create Firehawk, a superheroine with powers similar to Firestorm.
Another new report reveals thatMalese Jowwill return toThe Flashas Barry’s former love interest Linda Park in multiple episodes. It’s worth noting that, in the comics, Linda Park ends up marryingWally West, who will be introduced this season, played byKeiynan Lonsdale. It isn’t known if the series will adapt that particular story line or not.
