Back in September, just beforeSeason 2ofThe Flashdebuted,The CW Networkreleased a trailer that teased a newFirestorm. This sneak peek showed Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh) wearing the Firestorm suit, hinting that he will emerge on the show before starring in the midseason seriesDC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Today, the network has released another trailer and poster for next week’s episode,The Fury of Firestorm, which shows why the new Firestorm pair was created.
We first saw Firestorm last season, a character formed by the merging of two completely different people,Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond andVictor Garber’s Dr. Martin Stein. After the events of the season finale in May, fans may not be seeing much of Ronnie any more, after it was confirmed in theSeason 2premiere that he actually died in the first season finale. This trailer shows that Martin Stein’s health is deteriorating, and TeamFlashmust find a new match to save his life. As it turns out, that match is Jax Jackson.

InThe Fury of Firestorm, Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team go searching for another Firestorm for Dr. Stein. When the team meets Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (guest starFranz Drameh), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) has her reservations about whether Jax is the right person for Dr. Stein. Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) surprises Joe (Jesse L. Martin) while Barry and Patty (guest star Shantel VanSanten) grow closer.
It isn’t known ifFranz Dramehwill appear in more episodes afterThe Fury of Firestorm, but he won’t be the onlyDC’s Legends of Tomorrowcharacter appearing on bothArrowandThe Flash.Falk Hentschel(Hawkman) andCasper Crump(Vandall Savage) are also set to appear on bothArrowandThe Flash, to set up their characters beforeDC’s Legends of Tomorrowarrives sometime this spring. It was also recently confirmed that the newArrowvillainDamien Darhk(Neal McDonough) will cross over to bothThe FlashandDC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
With Dr. Stein now merging with Jax Jackson, it remains to be seen whatThe Flashwill have in store forRobbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond. It was confirmed during theSeason 2premiere that Ronnie did actually die in theSeason 1finale, but executive producerAndrew KreisbergtoldEntertainment Weeklyearlier this month that fans have not seen the last of him.
