WithThe Flashreturning forSeason 2next week, there are still several questions fans are awaiting answers for. One of those questions is the fate of Firestorm, a character formed by the merging of Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell).Robbie Amellhas confirmed that he will be back onThe Flash, butVictor Garberwill eventually be transitioning to The CW’s midseason seriesDC’s Legends of Tomorrow, airing next spring. Today we have a newSeason 2trailer forThe Flash, which reveals that there will be a brand new version of Firestorm in both shows.
The trailer reveals a brief glimpse ofBarry Allen(Grant Gustin) alongsideDC’s Legends of Tomorrowcharacter Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh), who is seen wearing a modified version of the Nuclear Man suit worn byRobbie Amelllast season. It isn’t known whenFranz Dramehwill appear onThe Flash, but it seems his appearance will help set up the new Firestorm that will be showcased inDC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The move makes sense, sinceRobbie Amellwas never confirmed as part of theDC’s Legends of Tomorrowcast, but it remains to be seen how he will now be used inThe Flash. In the comics, there have been other characters who have taken over the Firestorm Matrix, such as Mikhail Arkadin and Jason Rusch.

While it hasn’t been previously announced thatFranz Drameh’s Jay Jackson will appear onThe Flash, it has been confirmed that characters such as White Canary (Caity Lotz) and Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) will be introduced in bothArrowandThe FlashbeforeDC’s Legends of Tomorrow. It seems possible that fans will get a glimpse of everyDC’s Legends of Tomorrowon both of the hit shows before this midseason series kicks off, especially since the network used the same tactic to introduce Barry Allen beforeThe Flash.
In related news,Varietyreports that actress Vanessa Williams (When Marnie Was There) has signed on to play the wife of Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) and mother of Iris West (Candice Patton) on the series. It isn’t known when she will make her debut inSeason 2yet, and details about her character are being kept under wraps. The actress previously starred in the horror classicCandymanwithTony Todd, who is providing the voice for this season’s main villain Zoom. She is not to be confused withUgly BettyandDesperate HousewivesstarVanessa Williams.
