There’s also been chatter about a story set in the Golden Empire of Yi Ti and a story centered around Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) and his legendary voyages. While originally it seemed that some of the many planned projects had been shelved, this latest update suggests that the success of House of the Dragon has brought some of these back to the table.

Martin specifically excludedHouse of the Dragonfrom his list; considering the show already has two seasons under its belt, calling it ‘in development’ might be a bit of a stretch.House of the Dragon’s sophomore season hasreceived praise from Martin, particularly for its spectacular dragon battle, but he’s also gone on record discussing his dissatisfaction with adaptational changes.

There’salso the possibility that HBO is developing formerly canceled projects. A pilot known asBloodmoon, set during the first Long Night, was rejected just a few years ago. While it’s unlikely that anything that was filmed forBloodmoonwill make it forward, its central premise is interesting enough to hold some potential. Additionally, there’s also a slim chance that Kit Harington’s Jon Snow project could come back into contention. That series was expected to function as aGame of Thronessequel. While rumors have swirled aroundSnowfor years now, the most recent updates suggested that it would not be moving ahead. However, things change, and with so many projects seemingly being discussed, it is hard to rule anything out.
