She-Ra and the Princesses of Powershowrunner Noelle Stevenson has revealed thatHe-Manwill not be making an appearance in the reboot. Ever since the Netflix revival was announced, fans were hoping that Prince Adam would make an appearance at some point. That hope only grew when the show became a hit and three more seasons were announced. However, the iconic character will not be coming on to theShe-Rareboot at all, which may come as a disappointment for fans who were looking forward to seeing him.
In a recent interview,She-Ra and the Princesses of PowershowrunnerNoelle Stevensonwas asked about the possibility ofHe-Manbeing introduced. She says, “He-Manis not really on the table for this iteration ofShe-Raat all.” She went on to say that it would be a “challenge” to introduce the character into the reboot, though she would like to do it. However, Stevenson does not know how she would even begin to approach bringingHe-Manon board since she already has the next three seasons all mapped out.
While fans would love to seeHe-ManinShe-Ra and the Princesses of Power, it would be pretty hard to come up with a design that would fit the new show and still make fans happy. There was a big uproar when theofficial designs of She-Ra were revealedand throwingHe-Maninto the mix would more than likely start an even bigger uproar. But, the biggest thing about the new Netflix reboot is that the focus is onShe-Ra, notHe-Man. And now that the show is a hit, it really doesn’t need to bring him on unless the story calls for it.
This just means thatMasters of the Universefans will have to continue to wait for some new material. There hasn’t been a cartoon for the iconic character since 2004 and a movie has been talked about for over a decade now. TheMasters of the Universemovie is expected to hit theaters next year, but it will more than likely be pushed back since we haven’t had a news update since April about the project. It would be a pretty big shock if the movie was able to meet its release date.
Back in April, it was announced that theMasters of the Universemovie was being directed by the Nee Brothers. Screenwriter David S. Goyer had previously been in talks to helm the project, but he ultimately passed on the job. Fans have been waiting for news ever since then, hoping that a cast will be announced at any time along with a production start date. Regardless,She-Ra and the Princesses of Poweris doing just fine without any help from her brother and will probably be just fine in future seasons.
