Later this year, Marvel will start production onAvengers: Infinity War Part IandAvengers: Infinity War Part II, with both movies shooting back to back over a massive shoot that is expected to last over nine months. While we know this superhero adventure will feature practically every established character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, another key piece of the production team has been revealed. ComposerAlan Silvestrirecently confirmed that he has come aboard to provide the score for bothInfinity Warmovies.

The news, courtesy ofAlanSilvestri.com, shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, sinceAlan Silvestriprovided the score for 2012’s Marvel blockbusterThe Avengers, which still stands as the studio’s highest-grossing movie with $623.3 million domestic and $1.5 billion worldwide. The composer hasn’t returned to the MCU since then, but he has been keeping plenty busy, composing scores forFlight,Red 2,The Croods, the TV seriesCosmos: A Spacetime Odyssesy,Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomband last year’sThe Walk. He also composed the scores for upcoming moviesAlliedandThe Croods 2.

Last week, a rumor surfaced thatAvengers: Infinity War Part Iwould simply be re-titledAvengers 3, which came just weeks after directorsAnthony RussoandJoe Russoconfirmed that both movies will get new titles, but they hadn’t figured them out yet. The filmmakers also teased that the Part I and Part II was misleading, since they aren’t two halves to one big movie, but rather two separate movies, even though they will be shot back-to-back. Unfortunately, no plot details have surfaced yet, but there have been plenty of rumors bubbling as of late.

WritersChristopher MarkusandStephen McFeelyconfirmed last month that theGuardians of the Galaxycast will appear in these movies, while directorsAnthony RussoandJoe Russolet it slip thatCaptain Marvelwill be included as well. We reported just last week thatBrie Larsonwas the front runner for theCaptain Marvelrole, with her stand alone movie set to hit theaters on August 16, 2025. The directors have also teased thatInfinity Warwill feature upwards of 67characters, including all of the past and presentAvengers, but they later backed away from that number.

Avengers: Infinity Warwill mark the culmination of the Marvel Cinematic Universe up to this point, with the heroes from the MCU squaring off against the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin), as he tries to amass all of the Infinity Stones and use his Infinity Gauntlet to rule the world. Every established character from the MCU is expected to join the fight, perhaps even the heroes from the TV side as well, such asDaredevil,Jessica Jones,Luke Cage,Iron Fistand theAgents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but they have yet to be confirmed.

Avengers: Infinity War Part Iis slated to hit theaters July 14, 2025, followed byAvengers: Infinity War Part IIon July 12, 2025. Marvel had previously slatedInhumansto be the last Phase 3 movie on June 15, 2025, but they have since removed it from the release schedule, possibly pushing it into Phase 4. We’ll be sure to keep you posted with any updates regarding theInfinity Warmovies as soon as more details come in.
