Jason Momoahas become the latest celebrity to be accused of bad behavior on the set of one of his new movies. In a video that has surfaced online,Rachell Marie Hofstetter, who is much better known as YouTuber ‘Valkyrae,‘has called out theAquamanstar as the “worst celebrity or streamer experience” she’s ever had following her cameo in theMinecraftmovie.
Four misfits – Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Dawn (Danielle Brooks) – find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like piglins and zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Jack Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.
In the video shared on X/Twitter, Valkyrae takes part in a take on theHot Onespremise of discussing various subjects while eating food with hot sauces. She is asked about the worst experience she has had working with someone, and thanks to her small role in the new film,Momoa became her go-to name for being rude and mistreating crew membersafter one particular scene. She recalled:
“How do I say this? So, Minecraft movie. I have a cameo in the Minecraft movie that’s coming out. So, I would have to say Jason Momoa. I just saw him mistreat some of the crew, and it was pretty disappointing. It was after a very intense scene, and it was a very emotional scene, so maybe he was still in character. I don’t know. But, I just was kind of surprised by how he treated some of the crew.”

She continued:
“He was just, like, he was just really mad at them, that they weren’t doing something right. It was like setting up the shot, and stuff. He was just angry, like really mad, and yelling. So, I was like, ‘Man, this is not a good work environment. I would not be happy working under these conditions.’ So, yeah, I would probably have to say that was probably the worst celebrity thing I’ve seen.”
There have been no previous reports of Momoa causing any kind of problems on the set ofMinecraft, so it is hard to judge the accuracy of the claim without having any context. However, Momoa has been at the center of controversies in the past, most recently being reported to have turned up to filming forAquaman and the Lost Kingdomdrunk.
Minecraft Could Be Heading for Disaster
Even without any kind of alleged on-set bad behavior, theMinecraftmovie is already facing a potential problem, as reactions to the first trailer have not been great.The trailer’s debut received a huge 1.5million dislikes on YouTube, more than double the 660K likes it garnered. With the movie not being released until April 2025, there is still plenty of time for the movie to convince audiences that it can deliver something worth seeing in cinemas and not just another “wait until it streams” film.
