In the midst of this, the actress has been out promoting the sci-fi Netflix action filmAtlas, which is a bit of a departure for the rom-com queen. What could help some of the media uproar over her marriage would be the release of a good film, but if the current Rotten Tomatoes score forAtlasis any indication, Lopez may have to look to the next project.
According toRotten Tomatoes,Atlashas a current rotten rating of 8% on the aggregator sitewith 25 reviews counted so far.This represents one of the lowest ratings of Lopez’s career, withonly the 2003 misfireGigli, which co-starred Affleck, scoring lower (6%). Other low-scored films on the site starring the actress includeThe Wedding Planner(17%),Monster-in-Law(18%),The Back-up Plan(17%),The Boy Next Door(12%), andEnough(21%).

Critics Are Calling Atlas ‘Unoriginal’ & ‘Generic’
Atlasis being accused by some critics so far for not having any original ideas, generic dialogue, and subpar action. A big indictment byThe Hollywood Reporteris that it’s yet another Netflix release featuring a big-name star that is ultimately forgettable. Some are also saying Lopez is miscast in her role as Atlas Shepherd, with the film not playing to her strengths as a charismatic performer.
Despite the poor reviews,Atlasis likely to perform well on the streamer. Lopez’s last collaboration with Netflix,The Mother, was also poorly reviewed (43%) but itbecame one of the streamer’s biggest hits.

In addition to Lopez, the film also stars Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, and Mark Strong.
