Rumors of Jodie Foster’sTrue DetectiveCasting Began Earlier This Year

It was reported back in February that Jodie Foster was wanted as the lead inTrue Detective’snew season. At the time, the new season was only in early pre-production and the show was set to go into full production in the fall, which would fit with casting being completed in the next few weeks. The series is expected to return to screens in 2023, and while previous seasons have all taken place in the U.S., season four will move the action to the frozen Arctic, and will also return to the two-lead format of the first two seasons.

Of course, there is no need to fret about the quality of acting that will come to the series with the inclusion of Foster, who is considered one of the greatest actresses in Hollywood. It is once again a sign of how the world of entertainment has changed very quickly in the last decade. While there have always been some actors happy to dip in and out of television every now and then, the boom in streaming and the money that has brought to TV productions has seen many A-list actors and actresses moving from only working in theater-bound movies to appearing in shows for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV. Whether this could be one of many TV roles for Foster in the future, we can only wait and see.
