During an interview withThe Daily Beast, Boyega shared his experience with Kaluuya and how the actor persuaded Boyega to “prioritize the work.”

“I invited Daniel Kaluuya to my house because I was thinking abouta lotof stuff. We had a sit-down and I told him everything about how I felt. And it was so simple, the way he reacted. He was like, ‘Yeah. You need to prioritize the work, and work with people that actually fuck with you.’ With creative collaborations, we have to find people who are on our wavelength and then we create something good for our audience. That was one of the voices where I was like, OK, this is what I’m going to do.”

It seems Boyega took the advice as he’s set to star inBreaking, the true story of Brian Brown-Easley, a marine war veteran who faces mental and emotional challenges when trying to reintegrate back into civilian life. The movie comes from Abi Damaris Corbin, andBreakingis the filmmaker’s feature film debut.

Daniel Kaluuya Has Chosen Excellent Films Throughout His Career

Although his career spans over a decade, Daniel Kaluuya didn’t receive his breakout role untilGet Outpremiered in 2017. The film, which would pair future frequent collaborators Jordan Peele and Kaluuya, was a massive success launching the actor into the mainstream spotlight.
