In theGame of ThronesSeason 6 finale, Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) was lead to The Wall by Benjen Stark (Joseph Mawle), a character who has been missing since Season 1, when Bran had a greensight vision that finally confirmed a long-held fan theory, thatJon Snow(Kit Harington) is not the bastard son of Ned Stark (Sean Bean), but actually the son of Ned’s sister Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, which gives him a very strong claim to the Iron Throne. Today we have even more details about this upcoming season, which confirms what Jon Snow’s actual birth name really is.

The Season 6 finale set the table for what should be an epicGame of Thrones Season 7, even though this season will span just seven episodes, instead of the usual 10 episodes. The Season 6 finale ended with all of the major players converging on Westeros for what will be an epic Great War. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) was seen setting sail for Westeros with her massive fleet and three fire-breathing dragons in tow. This season, Dany will return to her ancestral homeland of Dragonstone, where she will prepare for her quest to take the Iron Throne. The throne is currently occupied by Cersei Lannister, after her son Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman) took his own life after his mother eliminated her enemies by igniting the wildfire under the Sept of Baelor.
It’s also possible that all of the surviving Stark children could reunite for the first time since Season 1.Sansa Stark(Sophie Turner), with the help of Jon Snow, took back her homeland of Winterfell from the nefarious Bolten clan, with Jon Snow being named the new King of the North, although nobody knows what Bran Stark knows about his heritage quite yet. Bran Stark was taken to The Wall by Benjen Stark, with Bran and Meera likely crossing into Westeros in Season 7, perhaps making their way to Winterfell. And, after two seasons in Braavos, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) finally returned home to Westeros in the Season 6 finale, crossing another name off her death list, using the mastery of her new disguise skills to kill Walder Frey (David Bradley), the man who orchestrated the Red Wedding.Game of ThronesSeason 7 debuts exactly one month from today, airing Sunday, July 16 at 9 PM ET on HBO.
