Kickboxer Vengeance is arebootof the popularKickboxersaga that debuted in 1989.Jean-Claude Van Dammemade a name for himself with this brutal and honest look at the world of kick boxing and underground martial arts. Since then, there have been four othersequels. But Jean-Claude never returned as Kurt Sloane. Now, that role is being played byAlain Moussiwhile Van Damme takes on a character completely new to the franchise.

No plot details have been revealed for Kickboxer Vengeance, but the tagline included on the poster released earlier this year hints that there will be one major twist that further fuels Kurt’s revenge. In the original, Sloane started out life as a cornerman for his brother Eric before becoming a master kick boxer himself. And once again, he will face off against Tong Po in a fight to the death!

And this beast is definitely someone you don’t want to mess around with.Tong Powas first introduced in the originalKickboxer, played by Michel Qissi. He was Thailand’s undefeated champion, but we’re not sure if his back story will get an update or reimagining. The original story saw Po paralyzing Kurt’s brother after refusing to stop a fight that has Eric throwing in the towel.Darren Shahlaviis playing Kurt’s brother Eric. But it looks like Eric’s injures will be a lot more serious this round. In fact, we don’t think the poor man is going to make it past the first act intact.

Kickboxer Vengeance marks the first timeJean-Claude Van Dammehas returned to the series since the original film. Nothing more is known about his character yet. But it sounds like he has some advice to give. And we’re sure he’ll be fighting someone at some point. Otherwise, why have him in the movie?
