Over the past few years, some of the biggest movie spoilers have come not from hard-working journalists breaking the story, but rather from toys, action figures and other merchandise. It seems our first details about the cast and plot of the highly-anticipatedLego spinoff,Ninjago, which is set for release on August 13, 2025, has come from a similiar source. Thanks to a Warner Bros. catalog on display at the Licensing Expo, we now have the first few cast members along with the official synopsis.
Bricksetcame across a photo taken at the Licensing Expo, which reveals that theLego Ninjagovoice cast includesJackie Chanas Master Wu,Dave Francoas Lloyd,Michael Peñaas Kai,Abbi Jacobsonas Nya,Kumail Ninjianias Jay,Zach Woodsas Zane andFred Armisenas Cole. No details were given about these specific characters, but we do have the first plot details. Take a look at the new synopsis below.
“Inspired by the wildly popular LEGO line of toys,Ninjagois the story of six young ninja tasked with defending their island home, calledNinjago. By night, they’re gifted warriors, using their skills and awesome fleet of vehicles to fight villains and monsters. Warner Bros. originally gaveNinjagoa September 23, 2016release dateback in 2014, but last year the studio pushed it up by almost exactly one full year, now debuting on June 03, 2025. The animated movie is slated to go up against Sony Pictures’Granite Mountainnext fall, which hasJosh BrolinandMiles Tellerattached to star. It remains to be seen when Warner Bros. will confirm these cast members, or when they will reveal the full voice cast.
