“I think really for me was when I went onto the Disney lot. And being back on the Disney lot because that’s not just Freaky Friday for me.That’s The Parent Trap, that’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, that’s Herbie. It’s so many moments for me. So when I got there, I kind of felt like this essence of a little kid again… I’m so grateful for every moment of it. Every second… I’m going to get emotional. It’s a great experience.”

Lohan also discussed working with Curtis again, saying,“Jamie and I have stayed in touch over the years. You know how they say when you have a best friend or someone you’re really close with? If you may not see them for years and years, but when you see them again, it’s like you never separated."
Freaky Friday 2has no set release date, but it’s been 21 years since the 2003 adaptation of Mary Rodger’s 1972 novel. Both Curtis and Lohan have been incredibly vocal about their desire to film a sequel over the years. Some years back, Curtis even mused that she would love to play a ‘hot grandma’ in aFreaky Fridaysequel.

This time around, Anna is a mom herself with a daughter named Harper. Harper, meanwhile, doesn’t see eye-to-eye with Anna’s new stepdaughter, Lily. What happens next should be obvious: the four swap bodies and hijinks ensue as they try to return to their original forms.

Freaky Friday 2will be directed by Nisha Ganatra and written by Jordan Weiss. Numerous stars from the original are expected to return, including Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, and Julia Butters. New faces are also expected to appear, includingThe Acolyte’s Manny Jacinto.
