IDW Entertainment (IDWE) announced today that the award-winning, fan-favorite propertyLocke & Keyis being developed as a television series. Author/creatorJoe Hillwill be writing the pilot and serving as an executive producer.Locke & Keyhas garnered both awards and acclaim during its five-year run.

Following the titularLocke familyas they encounter magic beyond belief and evils beyond redemption,Locke & Keyquickly won over readers and has since become a staple in introducing new readers to the medium. With the series adapted in dozens of languages across the globe, and more than a million copies sold worldwide,Locke & Keyis an obvious choice to make the transition to the screen. New York Times bestselling author,Joe Hill, has continually captivated readers through his gripping novels and award-winningcomic series.

Bursting onto the scene with his debut collection of short stories20th Century Ghosts,Hillhas continued to thrill audiences with the novels, Heart-Shaped Box, N0S4A2, and Horns, adapted into a feature-length film in 2013, starringDaniel Radcliffe. His forthcoming novelThe Firemandebuts later this month. In addition toLocke & Key, his comic series The Cape, Thumbprint, Wraith, and the upcoming seriesTales From The Darkside, have all been published by IDW. Said Hill.

IDW Entertainment is developingLocke & Keyas astraight to seriesand will maintain worldwide rights to the project. There is no news on which network the show will make its debut on. The show does not have a cast yet in place. It isn’t known when it may debut. The show was original set up at Fox, before it moved to MTV. The series stalled, and in 2012, some believed it might become a feature film.
