After her involvement in the college admissions scandal and subsequent prison sentence,Lori Loughlinis back on the small screen. Back in 2019, Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were accused to spending half a million dollars in bribes to get their two daughters secured into the University of Southern California. Initially denying the charges, Loughlin and Giannulli later pled guilty, and Loughlin served just under two months behind bars.

At the time the news of the scandal broke, Loughlin had been working as a series regular on bothWhen Calls the Heartfor Hallmark andFuller Housefor Netflix. She was fired from both shows as a result. It had since been reported Loughlin would make her return to acting inWhen Hope Calls, aWhen Calls the Heartspinoff series on GAC Family. Loughlin reprised her role as Abigail Stanton in the season 2 premiere on Saturday, a two-parter titled “A Country Christmas.”

“Everyone on set is very excited to have Lori back,” an insider reportedly toldUS Weeklyduring filming. “The crew is aware of the scandal she went through but strongly believesshe deserves a second chance.”

Teasing more to come from Loughlin, the source added, “On meetings and calls, she’s been so sweet to everyone and always has been respectful so it’s exciting for everyone involved. There have already been conversations about future projects with her down the line.”

In the episode, Lori Loughlin reunited with Daniel Lissing, who plays Jack Thornton. Though Jack was previously killed off, he appeared in a dream sequence and was able to work with Loughlin again. The actor posted a photo of himself with Loughlin when the episode aired.

“Will you let her know that I am happy that she is moving on with her life?” Jack said in the scene, asking Abigail to deliver the message to his wife, Elizabeth (Erin Krakow). “And let her know that she is doing a fine job with little Jack, and I cannot be more proud of both of them. … And one more thing: You tell her that true love never dies. I know that now more than ever.”

“Oh, Jack. There is so much that she wants to tell you," Abigail said.

In the two-part season premiere ofWhen Hope Calls, the residents of Brookfield come together to celebrate Christmas alongside some familiar visitors. As forFuller House, it looks like we might have seen the last of Aunt Becky. Loughlin was fired during the production of the show’s fifth and final season on Netflix, so even if Loughlin is back to work, it’s no longer possible for Becky to reunite with the Tanners. That could always change at some point in the future, asJodie Sweetin has teased doingFullest Housein 20 or 30 years.Perhaps Great Aunt Becky could be a role that Loughlin could play in that hypothetical series should it ever come to fruition.
