Sisters Violet andMadeleine McGraware escaping horror for their next joint project. Violet and Madeleine, best known for their work on genre films likeM3GANandThe Black Phone, respectively, will collaborate on a holiday feature described as a mix oftwo legendary Christmas movies:Home AloneandDie Hard. Variety reports that the yet-to-be-named movie will begin filming in Las Vegas next month.

Madeleine, the older of the sisters, began her career with early roles in films likeAmerican Sniperbefore working on the seriesOutcastand voicing Bonnie inToy Story 4. Her breakout performance as Gwen Blake inThe Black Phoneearned her critical acclaim. Madeleine’s other credits include the Disney Channel’sSecrets of Sulphur SpringsandAnt-Man and the Wasp. Violet gained early recognition for portraying young Nell Crain in Netflix’s critically acclaimedThe Haunting of Hill House. She later appeared inDoctor SleepandBlack Widow,before starring as Cady inM3GAN.

Christmas action movies are extremely popular, as much as the usual holiday staples.

The upcoming feature will be directed by Shaun Piccinino, who is no stranger to holiday features. He previously helmed Netflix’sCalifornia Christmas, its sequel, and Max’sHoliday Harmony. The movie is being scribed by John Ducey, who wrote the script for the McGraw sisters' first joint project,The Curse Of The Necklace. Violet, Madeleine, and their mother, Jackie, serve as producers alongside Ali Afshar, Daniel Aspromonte, and Christina Moore.

Violet & Madeleine McGraw Return to Terror in ‘Black Phone 2’ and ‘M3GAN 2.0’

The upcoming untitled action holiday flick marks the second collaboration for the sisters, following 2024’sThe Curse of the Necklace. Set in the 1960s,the supernatural horrorcenters on the Davis family, where Laura Davis (Sarah Lind) and her daughters (portrayed by the McGraw sisters) find themselves terrorized by a sinister force unleashed by an antique necklace. The feature, which is available to stream on Tubi, also stars Henry Thomas. Along with starring in the film, the sisters served as producers.

While the sisters are headed into holiday territory, we’ll still see them both appear in anticipated horror sequels later this year. Madeleine willreprise her role from 2022’sThe Black Phone, which is set to arrive in theaters on June 13, 2025, and sees Scott Derrickson back at the helm. He also co-wrote the script alongside C. Robert Cargill. The film will see the return of Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, and McGraw, with Demián Bichir joining the ensemble.The Black Phone 2will feature a time jump, following the characters as they navigate high school. While details regarding the plot remain under wraps, we hope the sequel is able to expand upon the supernatural elements in the first film and dive deeper into Hawke’s eerie The Grabber.

Violet will appear inM3GAN 2.0, which follows the events of 2023’s hit horror-comedyM3GAN. Two years after the chaos inflicted by M3GAN, Gemma (Williams) re-activates her to counter Amelia, a superior military weapon built on M3GAN’s stolen technology. The titular AI doll will return, alongside Allison Williams and McGraw. Directed by Gerard Johnstone,M3GAN 2.0will land in theaters on June 07, 2025.
