Fans might have to wait a bit forYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-ManSeason 2, but after that, fans can expect to see a new season every year.Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Mandebuted on Disney+ on Jan. 29, and while some might have been skeptical at first, the series quickly won audiences over with a unique animation style and excellent writing that captured the best elements of the character. With Season 1 wrapping up, fans likely prepared themselves for a long wait for Season 2, as there still isno word on whenX-Men ‘97Season 2 will air. However, Marvel plans to make the wait much shorter than expected for subsequent seasons.
While speaking withCollider, Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios,Brad Winderbaum, said they hope to have a new season ofYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Manevery year. He did hint that it might be a bit of a wait for Season 2, as is the case with many streaming animated shows, but the turnaround between the following seasons shouldn’t be as long. When asked for clarification, Winderbaum said thatYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-ManSeason 2 aims for a post-winter 2026 release date. Winderbaum said:
“We will have aSpider-Manseason every year if I have anything to say about it. What usually happens, as you know, in animation is that there’s a bigger gap between Season 1 and Season 2 than in subsequent seasons, and that’ll be similar inFriendly. We will have to wait a little bit more than a year for Season 2, but then after that, it should come out on an annual cadence, hopefully.”
How ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’s Ending Sets Up Season 2
Despite not having an after-credit scene, ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ has plenty of twists setting up Season 2.
Part of the reasonYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-ManSeason 3 might not have as long a gap as the one between Seasons 1 and 2 is because of how the animation process works. The first season was given the green light, but Marvel didn’t approve another batch of episodes immediately. Since it was renewed later, and animation is a long process, Season 2 began production at a later stage.However, sinceNeighborhood Spider-ManSeason 3 was announced before the show premiered on Disney+, it will give it enough time to be ready exactly a year after the second season debuts.
