Way back in November 2013,Marvel and Netflixannounced that they were teaming up to produce four new superhero shows,Daredevil,Jessica Jones,Luke CageandIron Fist. At the time, the plan was for all four superheroes to come together and formThe Defendersin a Netflix miniseries. While the streaming service hasn’t announced a debut date forThe Defendersyet,Independent.co.ukreports that the miniseries will start shooting at the end of this year. Here’s whatDaredevilstarCharlie Coxhad to say during a Netflix event in Paris over the weekend.

“What we do know is at the end of this year we’re going to be makingThe Defendersand, of course,Daredevilis very much a part of that foursome. I have no idea what the storyline is going to be for that show. I’m very excited to see how those world’s combine… and interested to see tonally how those shows become one.”

Nostory detailsforThe Defendershave been released thus far, and it isn’t known what creative talent will be behind the camera for this miniseries. It isn’t known if any of the writers or directors who work onDaredevil,Jessica Jones,Luke CageandIron Fistwill come back, teaming up much like these heroes, or if thestreaming servicewill bring on a whole new creative team. When asked ifThe Defenderswill wrap up any particular storylines,Charlie Coxhad this to say.

“In terms of wrapping up any storylines, maybe they’ll do some of that inThe Defenders. Or maybe they won’t.”

Daredevilhas already aired two seasons, withNetflixrenewingJessica Jonesfor a second season. We don’t know for sure yet ifLuke CageandIron Fistwill berenewedby Netflix, but if they are just as popular asDaredevilandJessica Jones, the shows would certainly get picked up for additional seasons.
