Long before streaming services made binge-watching an anytime pastime, kids in the 1980s raced home from school to seeHe-Man and the Masters of the Universe, andthe endless fight against the evil Skeletor. Those kids may have grown-up – in size at least – but the new tease ofNicholas Galitzine’s take on He-Man is sure to send them right back to a time before the internet, mobile phones, and evenDolph Lundgren’s iteration of the muscleman of Eternia.

Fans who grew up chanting “I have the power!” have been waiting forever to see a live-action version ofMasters of the Universethat actually remains faithful to the original Filmation cartoon series, and they are getting it courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios after decades of false starts. Hot on the heels of some leaked set images of Galitzine in Prince Adam form, an official still has now given just a glimpse of what awaits when he holds aloft his magic sword and…well, you know the rest.

‘Masters of the Universe’ Reboot Star Confirms Something That Will Finally Make Fans Happy

Nicholas Galitzine shares a new update on his ‘Masters of the Universe,’ suggesting recent plot rumors could be true.

Galitzine may not have been the first choice for He-Man in many fan castings, but so far he is certainly delivering the goods to bring the character to life when he inherits the Power Sword from the only other person to have appeared in the role in live-action, Dolph Lundgren. While theRockystar’s 1987 movie is the very definition of a cult classic, it was always lacking something for those who just wanted to see the cartoon come to life on the big screen. Now, it seems, fans are finally getting what they have wanted for 40 years.

“We started prepping in November last year, filming starts I think in about a week or so…couple of weeks. Up until now it’s been a lot of weight lifting and rehearsing, but we’re about to get into it and we’ve got a really fun script that everyone in the cast loves. We can’t wait to get on set and perform it. That will be great.”

There is still a long way to go until we get to see Galitzine’s He-Man take on the evil of Leto’s Skeletor, but with filming now well underway, it is likely that we will see more teases in the coming months as we move towards the movie’s August 25, 2025, release date.
