The first footage ofMasters of the Universewas recently released at CinemaCon, but most people are still waiting to see their first official look at He-Man’s new big-screen iteration. In the meantime, new images from the set of the movie have revealed a teasing first glimpse at one of the iconic locations of the franchise: Castle Grayskull.
While you may need to use your imagination a little, the latest images to leak from the set of the movie have revealed what appears to be the legendary jaw-bridge of the mighty fortress, which has never really been given its dues in a live-action movie. While pretty much everything shown in the images suggests there is going to be a lot of CGI work going into the creation ofMasters of the Universe’s Eternia, there are some small tidbits for fans of the franchise to spot on the long-distance shot.

Did Dolph Lundgren Just Tease a ‘Masters of the Universe’ Cameo? There Is Only One Perfect Role He Could Play
The original big screen He-Man could be heading back to Eternia, but who would he be playing?
Along withNicholas Galitzine’s Prince Adamappearing to have been captured by the minions of Skeletor (Jared Leto), the scene also includes a look at the villain’s Havoc Staff, an actor wearing a contraption that will seemingly be replaced by a sizable CGI character, and several costumed characters, although it seems likely that they will be upgraded by a little special effects magic as well. You can see the images for yourself below.

‘Masters of the Universe’ Will Include Practical Effects
While the set-up seen in this image, with its circle of green screen, makes it easy to believe thatMasters of the Universecould be reliant on the power of CGI rather than the Power of Grayskull to deliver its movie magic. However, footage revealed at CinemaCon revealed that there will be plenty of practical effects employed in the film. A description of the footage read:
“A BTS clip shows He-Man’s sword, with the director talking about the toys he had as a kid. “By the power of Grayskull!” is heard in the background. We see a lot of practical effects (mixed with VFX of course), accurate costumes from the cartoon, and huge physical sets. It ends with He-Man’s hair blowing in the wind.”

Masters of the Universehas not had the easiest journey into production, having been stuck in development hell for so long it seemed that it would never make it to screens. After being passed around various streamers, with several directors and actors attached to it, the first live-action He-Man movie since1987’s Dolph Lundgren movieis now finally becoming a reality thanks to Amazon MGM Studios and has amassed quite a cast. Alongside Galitzine as Prince Adam, AKA He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson as Goat Man, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena Glenn, and MCU star Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms. According to a rumor from the man himself, even Dolph Lundgren could have a cameo in the movie.
With everything pointing to the movie being a very faithful adaptation of the original 80s cartoon series, in aesthetics at least, there is a strong chance thatMasters of the Universewill be a crowd-pleaser for those 80s kids who just refuse to grow up.
